This Scholarship provides support to an exceptional individual for a period of one year for the purpose of undertaking research either a) as a rising senior or graduate student at the University of Virginia, University of Virginia's Wise campus or any of UVA's regional centers or b) as a Fellow of the Cooper Center.
Today’s poor children are likely to have lower educational attainment, lower projected lifetimes earnings, and generally poorer health outcomes as adults. This report provides a fresh perspective on childhood poverty and family structure in the Commonwealth.
This report explains why formal techniques may be insufficient for understanding poverty in Virginia college towns and offers an alternative method for measuring the level of need among the non-student population in these localities.
